Tara Scarlett
President / Chief Executive Officer

In 2016, Tara recently left a successful marketing career to become president and chief executive officer of the Scarlett Family Foundation, which supports Middle Tennessee students through scholarships, grants and funding for educational programs. A strong advocate of the education reform movement, Tara is recognized in Nashville for her passion in creating better opportunities for students of all ages. She served as a board member for LEAD Public Schools including Academic Committee Chair, was a founding member and Secretary for Project Renaissance, and is a Big Sister with Big Brothers/Big Sisters Program

Tara is a connector accustomed to leading teams of all ages, paving new pathways, and creatively solving problems. Well-known as a digital marketing expert, throughout her 20-year marketing career she held senior positions with The Coca-Cola Company in Atlanta and with Mars PetCare in Franklin. Prior to this, she held several marketing/advertising positions in New York City and Atlanta.

Tara attended Scales Elementary, is a graduate of Harpeth Hall and holds a bachelor's degree from Ohio Wesleyan University. She lives with her husband, 2 children and 2 dogs in West Nashville. Contact Tara
 

Tom Parrish
Chief Operating Officer

Tom joined the Scarlett Family Foundation as the Executive Director in 2007. He currently serves as chief operating officer managing the day-to-day operations and relationships with grant seekers, recipients, and key business partners.

Tom is a native Nashvillian with 30 years of business experience, including 12 years with Tractor Supply Company serving in leadership roles including Vice President of Merchandising and Supply Chain Management. Additionally, he has served the non-profit community as board advisor to several organizations and Board Chair of the Brentwood Family YMCA. He currently serves on the Nashville Chamber's Education Report Card Committee.

Tom attended West Meade Elementary, Wharton Middle, Bellevue High and is a graduate of Hillwood High School and the University of Alabama. Tom resides in Franklin, TN with his wife and has two children. Contact Tom
